We’ve been listening to Emily Wells non-stop over here at E+E. Wells, the “one-woman orchestral/electronic tour-de-force”, started playing violin when she was four years old. Four! What were you doing when you were four?

Her music is not exactly categorized into a genre, though people liken her style to a hybrid of classical and hip-hop. Along with her beautifully unique voice, she utilizes a multitude of non-traditional instruments like glockenspiels and toy pianos, creating songs that sound fresh and new and stick with you long after you’ve finished listening.

Lucky for all of you, Emily Wells will be in Portland this coming Tuesday (October 30th) at the Wonder Ballroom. She’s on tour promoting Mama Remixed, a follow-up to her LP that came out earlier this year, featuring The Blow, Baths, and Lemonade, just to name a few. You guys do not want to miss this show, trust us! Buy your tickets here.
